The Amazon Brand Referral Bonus is a credit Amazon pays Brand Registry sellers on qualifying sales they drive from outside Amazon, measured with Amazon Attribution. Amazon cites an average of 10% of product sales. Counting it changes the real cost of Meta, Google or TikTok ads that send shoppers to Amazon — often enough to turn a campaign that looks unprofitable in Ads Manager into one that pays.
How does this calculator work?
Everything runs in your browser. The formulas:
- Clicks = ad spend ÷ CPC. Orders = clicks × click-to-purchase rate.
- Attributed sales = orders × average order value.
- Bonus = attributed sales × bonus rate. Net ad cost = spend − bonus.
- ROAS = sales ÷ spend; effective ROAS = sales ÷ net ad cost.
- Profit = sales × profit-before-ads % + bonus − spend.
- Break-even CPC = order value × conversion rate × (margin % + bonus %).
Why does Meta under-report Amazon results?
When an ad sends a shopper to Amazon, the sale happens on Amazon’s site, outside Meta’s pixel. Ads Manager records the click and nothing after it, so its ROAS column reads zero for campaigns that may be selling well. Amazon Attribution reports the detail page views, add-to-carts and purchases from each tagged link, which is the number to manage to. We cover the full approach on our Meta ads for Amazon page.
When is external traffic to Amazon worth it?
When the listing converts cold visitors, margins can pay for a click and the bonus is in play. If the break-even conversion rate in the calculator is far above what your listing achieves, fix the listing first — our free listing audit is the fastest place to start.
