Amazon listing optimization service built on real search data.

Amazon SEO, listing copywriting, and A+ content for private-label brands. We get your listings indexed for the keywords that sell, written to convert, and compliant in the categories where one wrong word gets a listing pulled.

In short

An Amazon listing optimization service rewrites your title, bullets, description, backend search terms, images, and A+ content so the listing is indexed for the keywords buyers use and converts the traffic it gets. Embarc Consulting builds this from search, Search Query Performance, competitor, and ad data, then measures indexing, rank, sessions, and conversion.

Embarc Consulting is an SPN-registered, private-label-only Amazon agency with 10+ years of account management and 600+ products launched.

How does Amazon search ranking work?

Amazon doesn't publish its ranking algorithm, so be wary of anyone who claims to know it exactly. What sellers can observe consistently comes down to two broad factors:

  • Relevance. Amazon has to understand that your product matches a search. It learns this mainly from indexed text: title, bullets, description, backend search terms, and attributes. If a keyword isn't indexed, the listing generally won't show for it organically, however good the product is.
  • Performance. Among relevant products, Amazon favors the ones shoppers choose. Click-through rate, conversion rate, and sales velocity for a search term all signal that. Price, reviews, availability, and fulfillment feed into those numbers too.

Listing optimization works on both: getting the right terms indexed, and making the listing more likely to be clicked and bought. It doesn't replace advertising or inventory. A listing that is out of stock or getting no traffic won't rank on copy alone. For the full framework, read our Amazon listing optimization guide.

What's included

What does Embarc's listing optimization include?

Every element Amazon indexes or a shopper sees, built from data rather than guesswork.

01

Keyword research

Built from Amazon search data, Search Query Performance (SQP), competitor listings, and your own ad search-term reports. Our AI-driven processes audit thousands of keywords, and operators pick the ones worth ranking for.

02

Title, bullets & description

Copy that puts primary keywords where they count and answers the questions buyers have before they add to cart.

03

Backend search terms

Backend keywords filled with the relevant terms, synonyms, and misspellings that don't fit on-page, within Amazon's limits.

04

Indexing checks

We confirm that target keywords are actually indexed after changes go live, and fix the ones that aren't.

05

Image stack briefs

A shot-by-shot brief for the main image, infographics, lifestyle, and comparison images, written around buyer objections.

06

A+ / Premium A+ & Brand Store

A+ modules planned and written to lift conversion, Premium A+ where eligible, and a Brand Store structured around how people shop your catalog.

07

Variation & catalog structure

Parent-child variations, attributes, and browse nodes cleaned up so traffic and reviews consolidate where they should.

08

Restricted-category compliance

Copy reviewed for drug, disease, and pesticide claims and other wording that can suppress or deactivate a listing.

What do we check in an Amazon listing audit?

Every engagement starts with an audit. These are the elements we review and the mistakes we see most often:

ElementWhat we checkCommon mistake
TitlePrimary keyword placement, clarity, category style rulesKeyword stuffing that hurts readability, or the main search term missing entirely
BulletsBenefits, buyer objections, secondary keywordsFeature lists with no reason to buy, or repeated keywords that add nothing
Description / A+Brand story, comparison charts, module choiceA+ that repeats the bullets instead of answering new questions
Backend search termsRelevance, length limits, duplicationRepeating on-page words, competitor brand names, or going over the byte limit
IndexingWhether money keywords are actually indexedAssuming a keyword is indexed because it appears somewhere in the listing
ImagesMain image compliance, image order, mobile legibilityInfographics with text too small to read on a phone
Variations & attributesParent-child setup, filled attributes, browse nodeMissing attributes that keep the product out of filtered results
ComplianceClaims in restricted or regulated categoriesWords like "cure" or "treat" that trigger suppression

How we work

How does our listing optimization process work?

Four steps, repeated as search behavior and competitors change.

Audit & baseline

We audit the listing and record current indexing, organic rank, sessions, and conversion so change can be measured.

Research & map

We build the keyword set from search, SQP, competitor, and ad data, and map each term to the title, bullets, or backend.

Rewrite & brief

We write the copy, backend terms, and A+, brief the images, and review everything for compliance before it goes live.

Publish & measure

We confirm indexing, then track rank and conversion weekly and adjust where the data says to.

How do you measure listing optimization success?

We don't grade a listing by how it reads. We grade it by these numbers, tracked weekly against the baseline:

  1. Indexing. Are the target keywords indexed? This is the first thing to confirm after any change.
  2. Organic rank on money keywords. Rank for the handful of terms that actually drive sales, tracked alongside SQP data on impressions, clicks, and purchases.
  3. Sessions. Is more traffic reaching the listing from search?
  4. Unit session percentage. Amazon's conversion rate: units ordered divided by sessions. A better listing should convert more of the traffic it gets.

If rank rises but conversion falls, the copy is attracting the wrong buyer. If conversion rises but sessions don't, relevance or ad support is the gap. Reading the numbers together tells you what to fix next.

Proof: what listing work did in Case 01

In Case 01, a medicated skin care brand in a restricted, gated category, the listings had to rank without making claims that would get them suppressed. The work included compliance-safe listing rewrites and backend keyword indexing, alongside restricted-category ad structure, weekly bid and negative audits, and SQP rank tracking.

Since we took over in May 2025, monthly sales went from $5.1K (April 2025) to $23.6K (July 2026), 4.6x, with 15 consecutive months of compounding growth. Sessions grew from 2.8K to 12.5K a month and units from 377 to 1,324. Listing work was one part of that result, not all of it, which is the honest way to read any case study.

Is listing optimization enough without PPC?

Usually not. The listing earns relevance and conversion; advertising drives the sales velocity that helps turn relevance into rank. Ad search-term data also feeds back into keyword research, showing which terms actually convert. That's why most brands pair this service with our Amazon PPC management, with weekly audits on wasted spend, negatives, and bids toward target ACoS.

Embarc Consulting works only with private-label brands, over 120 managed to date. If your listings are live but not ranking, or ranking but not converting, an audit will show you which problem you have.

Frequently asked

Listing optimization questions, answered.

At Embarc Consulting it includes keyword research, a rewritten title, bullets, and description, backend search terms, indexing checks, image stack briefs, A+ or Premium A+ content, Brand Store guidance, variation and catalog structure fixes, and compliance review for restricted categories. The exact scope depends on your catalog and is confirmed in writing.
Indexing changes can often be checked within days of a listing update. Ranking and conversion changes usually take longer, because Amazon needs to see how shoppers respond to the new listing and ranking also depends on sales and ad activity. We track results weekly so you can see what is moving and what is not.
Yes. We plan and write A+ content, and Premium A+ where your account is eligible, and we advise on Brand Store structure. A+ requires Brand Registry, so we confirm your brand is enrolled before we scope that work.
Sometimes, but usually not on its own. A better listing improves relevance and conversion, but ranking also depends on sales velocity, which usually needs advertising, healthy inventory, and competitive pricing. That is why we often pair listing work with PPC management and inventory planning.
Yes. Restricted categories such as medicated skin care, supplements, and pest control need copy that ranks without making drug, disease, or pesticide claims Amazon will flag. Compliance-safe rewrites were a core part of our Case 01 medicated skin care account.
It is scope-based and quoted after a free audit. A listing rebuild for a few ASINs is usually a project, while ongoing optimization across a catalog is often part of a monthly management retainer. Inclusions are confirmed in writing before any work starts.
No. Embarc Consulting works only with private-label brand owners who control their own listings and brand content. Most listing optimization work, including A+ content and Brand Stores, depends on brand ownership.
